Remember me? You know, that person who used to blog every day and then fell off the face of the earth?? Sometimes you just have to play hooky… and go to New York… and eat everything in sight… And now back to our regularly scheduled programming!
This Elle Fanning shoot for Bullett Magazine combines everything I love: surreal, weird brushstroke-y splashs of color, high fashion, and strange, fluid movement. I love how the colors are slightly 80s-inspired, yet the apparel is romantic and feminine. Also, these photos remind of, in a strange way, of vintage daguerreotypes, where they used to accentuate a person’s features with hand-painted details. While this is a decidedly modern take on that technique, I can definitely see the similarities. This is one of my favorite photoshoots I’ve seen in a long, long time.
