Wow, the past two weeks have been crazy, to say the least. Disclosure: I am writing this post from bed, tucked away under 4 quilts and battling some weird cold/flu thing. This weekend is all about putting my life back together. I’m talkin’ groceries, laundry, clean sheets. Alllll the boring stuff.

Oof, those 5 days away really took it out of me! I am totally off track and pretty much behind in life. But I’m back and working to get it together again! Thanksgiving “up north” was amazing — too much food, walks along a frigid beach, and gorgeous sunlight. I got a bit crunchy granola this go around and sported some lovely Feetures (aka my favorite sock ever…) with my Birkenstocks. Hey, don’t judge me.
I also had some foodie adventures… lobster rolls are a must when I visit New England and Petey’s is The Best. Also, I made my first ever pie crust from scratch! With lots of hand-holding and coaxing from Adrianna over at A Cozy Kitchen, I made my own braided crust and filled it with bourbon pumpkin pie. Let me tell you, this recipe makes the perfect pumpkin pie — not too sweet and not too spicy. It is definitely going onto my yearly menu.

PS – How genius is the idea of making a frittata using leftovers the day after Thanksgiving?? Dan’s uncle Todd blew my mind with that trick.

Like I said, I was a bit of a slacker and got totally distracted by a spur of the moment trip to Boston this weekend. I thought my weekend would be quiet and lonely, but no! Thanks to a last minute flight purchase, I was whisked away to Boston, where I met up with my boyfriend. It was such a whirlwind 48 hours, but completely worth it and one of the best weekends I’ve had in recent memory.
