Introducing the Mairead Candles from Anthropologie. Designing candle packaging is so much fun — you get to think about fragrance notes and how color relates to each scent. For these candle tins, I wanted the artwork to be a bit preppy, but still have a hand-drawn aesthetic to them (I drew the artwork with my dried out Prismacolor markers from college!). Then for the lids of each vessel I really wanted the bold fragrances notes to stand out, so I created an eye-catching two-tone text layout. Lastly, I applied the artwork to a shape I designed that was inspired by vintage tea canisters!
I’m a big believer in fragrance being fun for everyone. Here are the notes for each candle. Which is your favorite?
- Pear & Coriander Leaf: a fragrant fusion of coriander, thyme and musk, blended with hints of Anjou pear, sweet strawberry and crisp apple
- Amber Cashmere: a rich blend of Moroccan amber, cashmere woods, musk and sandalwood combined with fresh citrus, rose, lavender and violet
- Applewood Moss: fresh fir balsam, cedarwood and soft green moss paired with juicy red berries, sweet fig, tart apple and jasmine
- Vanilla & Cedar: notes of citrus and juicy pear infused with creamy white floral and vanilla musk
