my home office + rugs direct giveaway

I’ve been sharing peeks into my SF apartment slooowly… settling in has been quite the process! This time, settling in feels a lot more thoughtful, more important somehow. Probably because I’m finally in a city that feels like a kindred spirit to me. I want to be here and actually stay. I haven’t felt that in a long, long time, so every decision I make in my home carries weight. One of the first places I focused was my home office. I do a LOT of my work from home, so creating a space to be creative was of utmost importance.

I filled the space with super functional pieces, including this gorgeous mid-century vintage chair and lots of pieces on wheels. Because my bay windows let in tons of light, I’ve started to amass a mini jungle. I love the way stacks of books and piles of plants inspire me as I’m writing and designing.

I also tend to walk around barefoot all the time, so a good rug was incredibly important, which is why I opted for this gorgeous wool/jute Sahara rug from Rugs Direct. Made by Loloi Rugs, this beauty is hand-knotted and super textural. My favorite detail is how the jute knots are a shorter pile height than the shaggier wool, making it feel nubby under my toes.

Jealous of my awesome rug? Well, good news, this week I’ve partnered with Rugs Direct for a giveaway!

I really love your chair and file cabinet; where is the chair from? I recently made the decision to pull up the carpet in my bedroom and leave the floors concrete but am in the market for a floor rug to add a little bit more comfort to the space — definitely going to check out Rugs Direct.
