Whew – it’s been quite the whirlwind of a month for me! Over the next week, I’ll be sharing snippets of what I’ve been up to. To start, this past weekend I attended the amazing BlogHer conference in partnership with Ziploc® Brand. Can you believe BlogHer is the first blogging conference I’ve attended? Talk about eye opening… I was beyond thrilled to connect with readers, as well as to make tons of new friends. Blogging is all about embracing a sense of community, so now I feel like mine is even bigger. It’s a great feeling.
BlogHer Conference Recap
It’s always fun to transition ‘internet friends’ into real life friends, so I was especially happy to finally meet up with the cool kids from Artifact Uprising. Their booth was absolutely gorgeous and I can genuinely say they are just as awesome as their product!
Another great aspect of the conference was the exposure to new brands. I was especially excited to meet the folks over at The Bouqs. Aside from having a booth bursting with gorgeous blooms, I was also wowed by their commitment to sustainability.
A large part of my time at BlogHer was spent in the SC Johnson booth talking about my favorite Ziploc® Brand products. We focused on sharing Life Lessons aimed at inspiring and preparing you for anything. For example, one of the Life Lessons we shared was easy cupcake decorating. We used Ziploc® Brand Freezer Bags in place of pastry bags by snipping off a tiny corner. This allowed us to neatly pipe the frosting onto the cupcakes. Then, we broke up toppings by filling a bag with candies and crushing them with a meat tenderizer. The clean up is super easy and it’s a lot more affordable than investing in expensive baking equipment — especially if you’re like me and bake at the spur of the moment.
What’s really funny to me is when people ask me why I like to work with Ziploc® so much, especially because I’m not a mom. Being totally honest, this partnership works so well for me because the actual product works well for me. The possibilities are endless. For example, two of the gallon storage bags are perfect for my climbing gear… I use the quart-sized bags to stow toiletries for all of my travels… I even freeze water in Ziploc® Brand containers so that Noodle can stay cool and hydrated while we’re hiking.
Be sure to like Ziploc® Brand on Facebook and follow on Pinterest to see even more Life Lessons. There is some seriously good stuff, like these smoothie freezer packs.
Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Ziploc® Brand. However all opinions are my own, and I would never endorse something I didn’t completely love. Thank you for supporting the brands that keep Jojotastic going.

I found your business card! Finally! I was lost without it trying to locate your blog and I only knew you first name. Nothingabout the blog. Gah! Man, I had no idea there were cupcakes available :( I would’ve been over, way sooner. Bummer.
We need to climb soon.
So sad I did not meet you at BlogHer! Funny story: at the end of the expo, @karenthefoodcharlatan:disqus and I were walking around chatting with people as they were packing up…then at one point I discovered I had a bag of smashed up M&Ms in my hand (no idea HOW it ended up in my hand). I tried to be discreet and set it down, but Karen INSTANTLY saw the bag on the table and called me out. I’m apparently an M&M thief! We had a good laugh thinking I had picked up some old M&Ms, but you’ve solved the mystery! :)
haha that is so perfect! hope you had a great time at BlogHer.
It was so nice meeting you at BlogHer Joanna! It really is so nice meeting people in real life, right? You look super cute with your cupcake, btw :)
