Confession: I can be a bit of a nerd. I really love technology, especially anything that makes my day-to-day easier and more organized. For a while now, I’ve been using an app called IFTTT to get reallllly streamlined in my working process. Recently, IFTTT approached me to talk about an exciting new Channel they launched last week, one where I am sort of an expert: Pinterest!
Let’s start at the beginning, with how IFTTT works: basically, create an account and search for a Recipe that will suit your needs. For example, I’m obsessed with Instagram when it comes to pulling inspiration for photoshoots, so I started using a Recipe that pins every Instagram photo I like to a specific Pinterest board. Now I don’t have to remember which image I liked and why… it’s just done for me, automatically. Cool, huh?
There are tonssss of other ways that I use IFTTT + Pinterest in both my professional and personal lives. Here are a few:
I recently hired an editorial intern to my team and IFTTT has been a great tool in helping us to stay organized and in step with each other. For example, I love featuring new Etsy shops that I come across, so now when I favorite an item on Etsy, it will automatically pin to a board. This makes it really easy for me to keep track of who I want to write about and feature, especially if Gwen is going to write the blog post that day.
Another favorite way to use IFTTT is to plan, well, anything because it works so seamlessly with Evernote. I love to use the Evernote + Pinterest Recipe because it helps me to keep track of my place pins when I’m planning a trip. Often, I use Evernote as a way to share travel plans with friends, so this way they can see my vision for the trip and where I want to go!
If you’re an Etsy shop owner, then IFTTT is seriously perfect for you, especially this Recipe which automatically pins new items you list for sale. Just think of all the time you’ll save while also streamlining how you promote your business! As a small business owner myself, I know just how important that extra time can be.
But seriously… the sky is the limit when it comes to IFTTT — you can even craft your own Recipes to suit whatever your needs are. And it’s not just exclusive to Pinterest. I use IFTTT to back up all of the photos on my phone to Dropbox, post my Instagram photos to Facebook and Twitter, and even to quickly manage my Google calendar.
All of the Pinterest Recipes are available here, with many more being added daily! Plus, the Recipes are totally customizable, so you can make tweaks to existing ones to better suit your needs.

I don’t think there’s enough !!! to properly articulate how freakin’ excited I am that IFTTT is now channeling Pinterest! I already love the app, but now it’s indispensable – seriously.
totally agreed!
