While it’s true I’ve been rocking my denim cut-offs alllll summer long (these are my faves), August is the time of year when I start considering what my fall look will be. Plus, as the days get shorter, we are definitely going to transition into cooler days, making cut-offs a tad bit ridiculous. This just leaves room for my new favorite silhouette: culottes!

This trend feels like it can go both ways: casual in that favorite-pair-of-bf-jeans way for the weekend or in a twinset, dressed up way for the office. Plus, because you’re showing that bit of ankle, should we have an Indian summer, you won’t overheat as you would in normal pants! This is kind of the best of both worlds… but in a really fashion-forward kind of way.

Patterned or solid, pleated or draped, I really hope that the culotte trend is here to stay.
