salty honey-matcha butter + The Year of Cozy giveaway

You know when you’re waiting for something in the mail that you really want to come? That was what waiting for The Year of Cozy to arrive was like! Every package that wasn’t Adrianna’s beautiful hardcover book with 125 recipes, crafts and other homemade adventures was a letdown. So when it finally arrived I couldn’t wait to dig in and try out some of her fun projects and recipes.

Joanna and Adrianna of the A Cozy Kitchen have been internet friends ever since she wrote a Scrumptious Gingerbread Bundt Cake recipe for Jojotastic’s Ziploc holiday collaboration. They quickly became friends IRL, which doesn’t surprise me at all because they’re both so freakin’ talented. Without further ado, try out this easy recipe from The Year of Cozy and enter to win a copy below!

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons honey, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon matcha green tea powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine-grain sea salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature

In a small bowl, add 1 tablespoon of the honey. Pour in the matcha and whisk vigorously until no lumps are visible. Pour in the remaining 1 tablespoon honey and blend.

Stir in 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt. Add half a stick of softened butter and mix until completely combined. Serve softened or chilled. To chill, transfer the butter to the center of a sheet of plastic wrap. Shape into a log and wrap tightly. Store in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

For a handmade hostess gift in minutes, add your salt honey-matcha to a small jar before chilling and refrigerate for at least two hours. Wrap with ribbon or twine and bring along with a baguette for a thoughtful after-diner treat.
