Today’s blog post is alllll about his and hers style for the holidays. I’m not exactly suggesting that a matchy matchy look is the way to go, but it’s always nice to have a coordinated look — especially when the cameras are out! Today I teamed up with Shoe Carnival to share a few tips for both his and hers holiday style.

Both of us are definitely what you’d consider to be more of a casual couple — jeans, cozy flannel, a pair of good boots and we’re happy. While the holidays definitely require a bit more of a polished look, I still firmly believe that comfort is key.

I personally feel that if you put together a look based on one of your favorite pieces, you can’t go wrong. In my case, it’s this oversized, boho blanket coat. Seriously, it feels like everything I pair with it automatically feels way more chic! I’m also a huge fan of boots, especially tall boots like these Solanz riding boots. The bit of tan at the top helps to define my legs, while also adding a bit of texture and visual interest to the overall look. Plus, good news: these boots also come in extended calf sizes.

As for Sean, he’s definitely more of a button-down kind of guy, particularly when it involves flannel! He swapped out normal blue jeans for black pants which feels a bit less casual. These Dr. Martin boots provided a great finishing touch that feels a bit fancier than sneakers, but is still just as comfortable.

Both of these looks were perfect for walking the dogs around the neighborhood and then doing a bit of Christmas decorating.
