It’s the third day of our 12 Makers of Christmas series! Today, we’re getting to know a designer, seamstress and good friend who has something extra special for all the tiny humans in your life. These are seriously the coolest kids clothes I’ve ever seen. (I wish they came in my size!)
Reina is the creative force behind Même, modern clothes for modern children that are meant to be shared between brothers and sisters. I love that she focuses on neutrality and longevity so that her beautiful pieces will clothe all the special people in your life, from ages 0 to 10, for years to come.

tell us a bit about what you do – your process, your materials, what inspires and drives you.
I make children’s clothing and accessories. I’m drawn to shapes and lines, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to stray away from this! It’ll always be included in my work and I’m hoping when people see the garments out on the streets, they’ll know its même. Without a doubt. I’m here to elevate your children’s tastes as they’re influenced by your own – your children are an extension of you, right?
What inspires me are… children. What drives me are… children. So innocent, so real. I’m also not a fan of separating kids clothing by gender – our clothing is intended to be passed down/around and shared between brothers and sisters. I have this strong belief that if I’m going to continue doing something, there has to be a bigger plan behind it. I hope to change the way we raise our children and the way we, as adults, treat our children.

what is your favorite holiday tradition?
Is getting together with your family considered a tradition? I feel like as we get older we see each other less and less as we make families of our own. I love coming together with my parents and siblings, and now nieces and nephews.
what’s your favorite gift to give?
Food. You can’t return it.

how do you maintain your creative process through the hectic holiday season?
The way I create/work comes in phases. I’m very scatter-brained so I’m constantly thinking of ways to refine an idea or to create something new, sometimes even while in the middle of a current project. Best way for me to work out the juices is to just dive in. This week, I already can’t believe it’s December? When did this happen? What was I even doing on Halloween?
any resolutions for the new year?
Drink more water, eat more salad, take more breaks, and celebrate accomplishments no matter how small. Do these even count as resolutions?
