STYLE // christmas day outfit + Shoe Carnival

See how I'm dressing to impress this holiday season!

Now that I’ve decorated my tree and bar cart, I feel like I’m officially ready for Christmas. This year, I’m meeting my boyfriend’s huge extended family for the first time and making a first impression is definitely on my mind. Luckily, I’ve teamed up with Shoe Carnival for a series of 3 blog posts with tonsss of holiday style inspiration. I’m sharing a peek at the look I’ve put together that I’m hoping will be casual and comfortable, while making a great first impression on my boyfriend’s family!

I’m one of those girls who feels way more comfortable in jeans than a skirt. Black jeans strike a good balance between actual denim and nicer black pants. Because, honestly… if I feel physically more relaxed, I’ll be able to make a way better first impression.

I also realize that my tattoos could be a bit off-putting when I first meet someone new, so I tend to wear covered shoes like this pair of Circus by Sam Edelman ankle boots. Black shoes pretty much go with everything, while the lug sole of this pair feels casual and edgy. I love the height that the shoes give me (aka instant confidence) while also being incredible easy to walk in.

I softened the look with an airy paisley printed silk top and an oversized mohair cardigan coat. The look is layered, casual, and juuust nice enough to make a great first impression on my boyfriend’s family, don’t you think?
