5 cool // denim skirts

When it comes to my wardrobe, I’m all about those essential, key pieces. It’s so much easier to build an effortless look when you’ve got great go-to’s in the closet, ready to pull on at a moment’s notice. For spring, that means finding the perfect denim skirt. Throw on an uncomplicated top and some playful flats and you’re ready for anything.

When the sun finally comes out of hiding (any minute now, Seattle…), light wash minis are where it’s at. I’m seriously crushing on Free People’s Braided Baby Mini Skirt (pictured above). With that great textured detail and cute high waist, this number has long picnics and sunny days written all over it.

Okay, so maybe it’s not beach weather quite yet. For those chilly days, go for a midi skirt and some low-rise booties. ASOS’s Denim Midi Skirt has a great zip front detail with a split hemline for added interest, with front slip pockets for a clean look.

A good dark wash denim piece is yet another essential. This dreamy Denim Polly A-line Button Through Midi Skirt is from ASOS and a juuuust-right indigo color. Love the classic five pocket design and I can’t get enough of that rose gold-tone hardware.

This Exposed Button Long Skirt from 7 For All Mankind is so cool. Something about the cool cloudy blue wash and vintage look of the released hem feels so fresh right now. The silver hardware really brightens things up and goes with everything.

Okay, you caught me daydreaming about popsicles and bike rides. Urban Outfitter’s BDG Dolphin Hem Mini Skirt is just so sweet and cute. With that curved scallop hem and elastic banded waist, it’s just what I’ll be throwing on on the way out the door with sunscreen in hand.
