for your friday

This week, you guys. This week. What a week. Not sure when I was last this tired! I’m planning to focus on some yardwork again this weekend for the first time in a few weeks. All those weeds I pulled in March? Yup, they are all back. And so homeownership goes, I guess. But this weekend, I want to add in a few plants as well. There’s an awesome nursery here in Seattle that I’ve been wanting to check out, so I think that just might have to happen. I’ve got planters on the brain, too and wanted to share some of my recent finds and favorites with you.

The house thankfully has loads of space for plants — the deck (don’t miss out on the ‘before’ photos), the dining room, the kitchen, the front porch… I’m going to fill this tiny bungalow!

Texture, pattern, and color is just so important, especially when you’re mixing so many together. Plus, a simple metal plant stand keeps ’em organized and happy.

I feel ya with the weeds. My current nemesis are the blackberry bushes taking over. I hired some goats (thankfully living in portland this is an easy and cutest option) to keep the spiteful plant at bay but I feel like my weekends are mostly battle between myself and thorns. Keep at it! Victory will be yours!
