You guys, the weather in Seattle the past couple of weeks has me feeling like I live in California! It’s been hot and sunny almost every day and, even though we’ve each been stocking up on summer basics, my outfits are still far from beach-ready. I’m still missing the most important part: a beach tote!
Raffia tote bags have a special place in my heart. I can hear waves crashing on the shore just from looking at all the bright colors and fun patterns of these vintage-inspired bags. Don’t even get me started how much I loved the ones with pom-poms, like Capri Woven Tote with Pom Charms (pictured above) from Nordstrom.
Lead the way to the beach with Straw Studio’s Conversation Tote from Nordstrom. It’s sturdy leather handles and lined interior can carry all your gear and keep it free from sand as well as prying eyes. Did somebody say ‘sangria?’
Inspired by the resort hotspot in Spain, the Pink Ibiza Tote from Tuckernuck looks good anywhere. Whether you’re headed for a day of lounging by the beach or sipping cocktails poolside, this bright, cheery tote will become your favorite day bag.
Okay, I’m technically cheating with this one, but even though Gaia’s Ark Handbag may not be made of raffia, it’s definitely in the running for my favorite beach tote ever. This reproduction of a classic Japanese picnic bag is a serious showstopper that you can wear with everything from a new bikini to your favorite LBD.
Can we talk about the pom-pom action on this Eliza Gran Venice Tote? So good! This collapsible straw tote is handmade in Morocco and is the perfect size for stuffing in a couple of beach towels and running out the door for some rays.
