I’m about to reveal something that I’m not sure most of you guys know — I am a huge football fan. So imagine my excitement (actually, that word is an understatement) when American Express invited me to their exclusive Dinner on the 50 event for Card Members… literally, we had dinner on the 50 yard line at Century Link field and had the epic adventure of meeting Seahawks players, scoping out the Super Bowl trophy, and feasting on some amazing dishes.
I grew up watching football with my dad every Sunday and so now, as an adult, it’s a tradition that I continue to keep. When we walked into the stadium, my eyes lit up and my jaw dropped. We got to run around on the field, (attempt) to kick field goals, sip on cocktails, and even participate in a Q&A session with Seahawks players. This is one of those experiences that I know I will never, ever forget… and occasionally bring up to make all my Seahawks fan friends jealous!
I always love when an event benefits a good cause and Dinner on the 50 didn’t disappoint — all of the proceeds went to the local YMCA here in Seattle!
The food was also spectacular. Inspired by the 4 quarters of a football game, dinner was 4 courses curated and prepared by Seahawks chef John Howie. We feasted on Dungeness crab artichoke dip, filet mignon with yukon gold mashed potatoes topped with a wild mushroom sauce, and white chocolate coconut creme pie with caramel sauce and toasted coconut! And don’t even get me started on the blue cheese stuffed red potatoes that were part of the passed appetizers… Are you drooling yet??
Exclusive events like this are what I love so much about being a Blue Cash Everyday cardholder. American Express makes it so unbelievably easy to grab tickets to epic happenings around town like concerts, sports events, and shows… all while also receiving amazing perks like 1% cash back.
