Happy 2017, you guys! I hope you had an amazing holiday, but now it’s time to get down to business and back to our regularly scheduled programming… Last year I set some goals and then promptly forgot about them. Little did I know that I’d dive head-first into the home buying process and that I’d get totally thrown off track because of that huge moment in my life. 2016 certainly brought many ups and downs, many of which threw me off track. This year, I want to focus on the simple stuff. Here are a few goals and resolutions for 2017:
Get dressed more often. I have a habit of running around my dirty gym clothes, to the point where I have so many tops, dresses, and shoes that I just never wear! This year, I resolve to get dressed more often and actually wear the clothes I’ve spent money on. I also feel like at some point I stopped being a stylish person, something that I blame on owning a house, to be honest. I have too many other expenses to buy clothes right now, so I’ve sort of let my personal style go. I think bringing back our style post series will help because it almost forces me to think up cool, creative outfits even if it’s just with clothing I already own.
Renovate the bedroom. The living room and dining room renovations wiped me out, but it’s time to get back on track and continue working on the house! The bedroom is next and I can’t wait to share each step with you guys.
Start growing my own vegetables. As soon as I bought #mytinybungalow, I knew I wanted to max out the yard and gardening space. This spring, we’re going to build planter boxes and get some veggie gardens started! I think I’ll document that here, too.
Diversify. This one is sort of a continued goal of mine, but it’s super important. I want to do so much more than blogging. I dabbled a lot in 2016, but in 2017 I want to be more focus on styling, product design, and launching a new business venture that’s unrelated to the blog.
Be more authentic. Wow, that a big one and what a big buzzword, huh. To me, this means giving you guys more of a glimpse into who I am as a person and what my day-to-day looks like. I don’t want my corner of the internet to only be aspirational. Rather, I want to inspire you to live your best life and to do this by sharing what helps to bring me joy. Climbing, road trips, personal essays, and photos that aren’t always perfect… that’s what this means to me.
This list is pretty short, but to me, that feels achievable. Sean and I will also be participating in Drynuary, so that should be a joy… ha. I’ve never done one of those before!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on my list + what are your resolutions and goals??
