Do you ever find yourself with an endless amount of tabs open to must read blog posts, your download folder filled with free newsletter opt-ins and your inbox exploding with newsletters? (Joanna’s note: yes.) Whether you’re just starting out or have been in the online creative space for some time, the amount of free business content available can overwhelm you. I still love reading blogs and newsletters, but my favorite way to educate myself is to listen to a business podcast. There are some really great ones out there, so today we’re sharing our favorite podcasts, the best episodes, and tips on fitting all of these podcasts into your schedule.

The Best Podcasts for Bloggers & Creative Business Owners

Being Boss
If you are planning to start a small business, or already have, take a listen to this podcast. The hosts, small business owners, Kathleen Shannon and Emily Thompson, tell it like it is with zero sugarcoating. With over 100 episodes in the archives, there is something for everyone!

Jenna Kutcher, a wedding photographer and educator, started this podcast at the beginning of the year and it’s already one of my faves. She has some amazing guests, but I can’t get enough of Jenna’s encouraging spirit.

Now that your iPhone is filled with podcasts, I wanted to share a few quick tips about fitting time in to listen to podcasts.

Tips for listening to podcasts

  1. Determine the best times to listen to podcasts free of distractions.
    • On a walk
    • While washing dishes or emptying the dishwasher
    • While putting makeup on
    • Doing laundry
    • On a roadtrip
  1. To get through them even faster, I love listening to podcasts sped up to 1.5x speed. This makes them faster, but still understandable.
  2. Save your favorite episodes so you can easily relisten to them.
  3. You don’t have to subscribe to every podcast — just download the episodes you want to listen to.

Do you listen to to podcasts? What are your favorites? How do you fit them all in?
