I’m not gonna lie, having a broken leg and wearing an unsightly air boot is really cramping my sartorial senses. This summer has found me living in t-shirt dresses, with the occasional pair of cut offs thrown into the mix. The look is pretty basic and I’m very over it, especially after discovering these gorgeous pieces from DÔEN. This is the vibe that I want to be my everyday style: vintage, chic, babelicious, and reminiscent of the western prairie.
Being a textile nerd, I can’t help but love the different types of fabrics DÔEN uses — cotton silk dobby, washed raw silk, drapey chambray cottons. And it all pairs back so nicely with my first true love, denim.
So often I find fashion to be a bit aspirational. I always feel out of my element when I dress too trendy… but this vibe, this I can get behind. It feels so easy and effortless, like I can toss on a gorgeously constructed blouse with my favorite flat fronted flares, and hop into a vintage Mercedes. Perhaps that will be the plan once my leg heals (and I get that vintage Benz…).
