the friday edit

I don’t know what it is about this week, but man, what a doozy. Being totally honest, my anxiety this week has been through the freaking roof. This isn’t anything particularly new for me, but the immensity of it is something I haven’t experienced for quite a while. Yesterday, I ended up leaving the studio early to try to calm myself and take the afternoon to reset. I came home and decided to cook. There’s something so grounding and settling in the simple act of combining flour, sugar, and butter. So I mean chocolate chip cookies, banana bread, and sweet tea. Just a few of my favorite things that are easy to make. I woke up this morning feeling a bit better, like the cloud has lifted a bit. If you’re feeling the same way, I hope you know that it can get better. It can feel like an all-consuming thing, but better days are possible.

Anyways, here are a few things that have inspired me this week:

1o documentaries worth streaming on Amazon Prime right now — just in time for the weekend!

Nicole did the most incredible hand-painted floor in her bathroom.

Kat Von D has an all-black flower garden and I am obsessed.

I’ve been lusting after this arched mirror from Rejuvenation something fierce lately, especially as I think about a bathroom renovation more and more.

This is fascinating: see the exact opposite end of the globe from you.

How do you feel about this article talking about millennials filling their homes with houseplants?

This floral arrangement is stunning.

Our DIY contributor, Hannah, hasn’t shopped ALL YEAR. Read about it here — really, it’s quite amazing.

This new Loeffler Randall bag is so weird, but I love it so much…

And Glossier just released the body hero duo, so now our bodies can be perfectly glowy, too.

Have a great weekend!
