Ever since launching our small space entertaining series, I’ve been patiently waiting to style a Halloween tablescape and it is finally time! I knew for this one I wanted the vibe to be all-black with a range of really luxurious, rich textures. After Sarah created this sophisticated centerpiece (without a single pumpkin), I knew I wanted to keep things pretty simple for the tabletop.

While gathering my materials for this tablescape, I fell in love with these incredible plates by Jars Tourron for Crate & Barrel. The glaze is absolutely extraordinary… perfectly matte, with tiny silver speckles that remind me of the night sky. I knew I had to have them. They were definitely an investment at $30 each, but they will layer in nicely with the rest of my dinnerware pieces.

This table is all about texture layered upon more and more texture. From the black linen tablecloth to the spiderweb-inspired placemats to these swirling milky wine glasses, this is how I like to entertain for a more grown up Halloween party. I also made sure to mix up the textures in a way that complements the centerpiece. By keeping most of my dinnerware in shades of black, the foliage is really able to pop. Then the opalescent glassware provides a chic nod to Halloween without being over the top.

Ok, now for my favorite part of this entire tablescape: these stunning agate napkin rings. I usually think of napkin rings as jewelry for your table, but these take that idea to a whole new level!

So, what do you think — would you put a more mature spin on your Halloween entertaining style?
