It all started in November: Sean and I were chatting about the living room and one of us mentioned that we need a new TV. The existing one had been with me since I graduated college and was a bit dated, to say the least (the speakers would buzz and rattle with any hint of bass). Flash forward to Black Friday and suddenly we had bought a 55″ television. While this was a definite upgrade from our 37″ dinosaur TV, it was also quiiite an addition to our tiny living room. If you saw my Instagram Stories, you know how overwhelmed I was when the giant TV came into our home. Truth be told, I thought about returning it, but then I fell for it… hard. High definition is sort of amazing, as is not having to search for my glasses to watch The Bachelor. Anyways, after we wall-mounted it, I realized that I’d have to get creative in a big way to make it blend a bit more into our tiny home. And that’s when Art.com enters the picture (pun very much intended) — their vast selection and The Gallery Wall Designer and ArtView™ in their easy-to-use app made it a breeze for me to select a pre-curated gallery wall and order.
In case you missed my Instagram Stories last week, The Gallery Wall Designer and ArtView™ feature of the Art.com app makes it incredibly easy to add a gallery wall to your home. The app uses patented augmented reality to show you how a specific collection of art will look in your space. To start using the Gallery Wall Designer and ArtView™, you can shop for a grouping based on your aesthetic (I chose Mid Century Modern). Then select the number of pieces you’d like to use and which ones you’d like to be included. From there, it’s so easy to tap on ‘View in Room’ and see the pieces in your space… it’s so easy and amazing!
I chose a grouping of 3 pieces for our space in a palette of white and black with pops of acidy yellow. My feeling was that the scale of the gallery wall would help balance out the tv, while the color palette would complement it and the furniture. Art.com also made it easy for me by recommending frames based on the style as well. I love how the single wooden frame adds as softer, natural element that ties in nicely with the lounge chair.
Once the pieces arrived, it was really easy to lay them out just like the app showed me. As someone who has struggled to curate a gallery wall in the past, this was such a breeze. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to do one on my own again (and why would I when the app makes it sooo much easier??).
Also, Art.com is giving away five $500 shopping sprees to celebrate the release of the new Gallery Wall Designer and ArtView™. To enter, simply follow @artdotcom on Instagram or Twitter and post/tweet about loving your wall and use #LoveYourWall. That’s it! The giveaway ends Wednesday, February 21. The five randomly drawn winners will be announced the next morning!
I’m really happy with how this corner is looking, finally. It was such an eyesore for so long, but the addition of curated artwork has really helped a lot. What do you guys think??
