window shopping // polka dots (for under $100!)

Hey, guys—Hannah here! You’ve probably seen me around these parts helping Joanna with DIYs for the past year, but what you may not know about me is that from nine to five, I spend my days at Nordstrom HQ. That means I spend a lot of time window shopping (it’s okay if it’s all in the name of research, right?), so I was more than ready to step in when Joanna asked me to round-up some of my favorite pieces for under $100.

And for my first fashion post, it’s all about the polka dot:

update your wardrobe for spring with the most playful trend around: polka dots! prettily printed fashion and accessories, all for under $100! #under100 #affordable #style #fashion #whattowear #polkadot

As far as I’m concerned, spring is the time to embrace prints. Florals, ginghams, and stripes are always on heavy rotation, but this year as the weather finally starts to warm (although we may have to wait a bit longer for this to happen in Seattle) I can’t get polka dots out of my mind. I think I first became enamored with this vintage-meets-modern pattern when I saw a certain Jaquemus top on some of my favorite stylish ladies last year. Ever since then, I’ve been hoarding links to some of my favorite polka-dotted pieces that don’t completely blow my fancy cocktail budget, thank goodness. If you’re pattern averse, don’t worry—I included a few subtle accessories so you can dip your toes into the trend before you dive in.

  1. kitten heel slingbacks
  2. midi wrap dress
  3. straw cloche hat
  4. balloon sleeve crop top
  5. trouser socks
  6. pearl-embellished skinny jeans
  7. ribbon-wrapped hoop earrings
  8. faux fur jacket (this one is available from Rent the Runway!)
  9. cold-shoulder top
  10. flounced midi dress
  11. intarsia sweater
  12. silk scarf
  13. button-front skirt
