my night time skincare routine

After sharing my morning skincare routine yesterday, it’s time to share my (slightly more involved) night time skincare routine! Last year when I was laid up on the couch with my broken leg, I watched hours upon hours of YouTube video about beauty and skincare… and I’ve kind of gone a bit overboard.  My new rule is that I’m not allowed to bring anything new into the medicine cabinet until I’ve emptied a bottle. It’s hard though! There are so many great products out there… and so many I want to try.

So this post does not include my weekly exfoliating routine. It’s just my basic night time skincare routine in between those days. I start by washing my face with the Elemis Superfood Facial Wash*. If you’re unfamiliar with Elemis, definitely check them out because I have been having a minor love affair with their products lately. The facial wash smells awesome and does a great job of removing the day’s dirt and grime without drying me out.  After I dry my face, I use the Herbivore Botanicals Jasmine Green Tea Balancing Toner* which I’ve mentioned here wayyy too many times. I apply the toner with my cotton pads from S.W. Basics (more on those here) and, I swear, it helps keep painful cystic acne at bay. This is one product that I will never let myself run out of without having a back up on hand.

my night time skincare routine including Elemis facial cleaner, Herbivore Botanicals jasmine green tea toner, Shiseido eye cream, Drunk Elephant virgin Marula luxury face oil, Sunday Riley luna sleep oil, The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 & more. #skincare #skincareroutine #beauty #koreanbeauty #koreanskincare #naturalskincare

Next, I apply my serums, starting with The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5  which helps with your skin’s surface hydration. If I have any acne, I use a drop of Glossier’s Super Pure + Origins Super Spot Remover Blemish Treatment Gel. This combination has worked really well for me for months now and I highly recommend trying it out. After I apply this combo, I notice such an improvement the next day.

To moisture my eye area, I use Shisheido Essential Energy Moisturizing Cream*. I’ve rejected lots of eye creams because they alwaysss make my eyes burn (I’m probably putting it too close to my eyes) or it feels too heavy/sticky/uncomfortable. This one absorbs quickly and I love that the tub is so big so I don’t have to buy a new one any time soon. After this, I smooth Elemis Superfood Night Cream* on my face and neck. This stuff smells sooooooo good and leaves my skin feeling really soft and supple.

The last step in my night time skincare routine is to lock in all of these products with a facial oil. I’ve been alternating Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil and Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil* lately. I just need two drops of each to seal in lots of moisture while I sleep. When I skip this test in my routine, I always notice a difference in my skin texture the next morning!
