I’ve been eagerly waiting to share this bloopers post alllll year long! That’s right, today’s post is a behind the scenes peek into all the silliness of running the different facets of my business. If you’re new to the blog, this is a tradition that I started two years ago and it’s just sort of stuck. You can catch up on 2016 and 2017, respectively. Let’s dig in to all the random photos I could dig up from styling, blogging, and general creative business shenanigans, bloopers style.

Behind-the-scenes: Photoshoots
This is what the studio looks like on a GOOD DAY. Most of the time there is at least one box mountain, two different flat lays, and trap music blaring.

Fun fact: I hate being sticky. Most of the weird faces I make during photoshoots are because I have somehow gotten sticky and Meghan can’t help but capture it. Oh, and I pretty much always make a mess.
These outtakes are from our Mother’s Day tablescape, an Enstrom Instagram post, and Ombré Peony Floral Installation.

DIY shoots always provide a few laughs, too. This outtake is from our DIY tree skirt.

Behind-the-scenes: Prop Styling
I took on a lot more styling work this year, which was my most favorite work highlight of 2018. Not only do I love being on set, but it’s been really rewarding to create content for brands other than my own.
Sometimes you need to get the shot… and to do that, you need to hop on the counter and hold the door open!

Both of these outtakes are from when I styled the cover of Moorea Seal’s newest 52 Lists book. We ended up shooting at our house because the light in here is so good and we had a few different options for locations. Can you imagine 6-7 people in our 640 square foot house? No wonder I kept all of the prop flowers in the bathtub.

The one time I took the chickens on the road for my styling work with Value Village… and Nancy Kerrigan got fresh with Rachel!

Behind-the-scenes: Blog Life
Here’s the thing about blogging: every day is different. Sometimes you’re picking up a workbench, sometimes you’re shooting around your contractor’s butt. And you’re pretty much always trying to retrieve packages from the post office.

I would also love to thank my all of the amazing talented women who make up my team: Hannah, Sarah, Meghan, Ellie, Taylor, Rocky, and Kaitlyn… you guys are absolutely incredible and I’d be utterly lost without you. Thank you for everything (especially your patience and grace in dealing with my shenanigans).
