9 Things of Note in June 2019

Most of my fave things this month are from one of two things: products I brought with me to Italy OR stuff I’ve been using in our new kitchen. Before I left for my trip, I ordered a tonnn of new clothing. As is usually the case, I ended up returning a lot of it, but some pieces worked out! I’m actually surprised by what worked, including a Free People dress, Madewell cut off shorts, and some really cute wrap around espadrilles. Let’s dig into my top 9 things of note for the month of June!

Joanna’s Things of Note from June 2019 (including Madewell, Elemis, & more)

As always, please note that a few of these items have been gifted to me. I have indicated that with an asterisk * next to the name of the product. As usual though, I am only sharing what I have absolutely loved and would spend ‘real money’ on regardless.

Faux Pearl Large Barrettes

I’ve been sooo into pearl anything lately. Add that to the oversized barrette trend and I’m super-stoked. I picked up these hair clips after seeing my girl West Coast Aesthetic rocking them. For anyone who saw my stories while in Italy, you know that I basically wore them every day!

Lilah Pleated Tube Dress

I recently donated most of my summer dresses because I realized that I actually hated them… because I wore them day in and day out after my accident. They just didn’t make me feel good anymore. So I ordered a few things and fell in love with this white dress from Free People. It’s really comfortable, breathes well, and makes me feel great.

High-Rise Denim Shorts from Madewell

I really struggle to find cut off shorts that are actually comfortable. Usually they ride up, are too short, or don’t fit in the waist. But these high rise shorts have been perfect and my go-to staple this summer!

Splendid Tereza Espadrilles

I have wanted a good pair of espadrilles foreverrrrr. The problem is that most of them are either wedges or platform. My leg makes it really hard to rock those. I had a hard time finding a part that were flats and comfortable. Thankfully this pair from Splendid worked out really well — and no blisters!

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream*

I’ve written about this day cream so many times, but it bears repeating in my 9 Things of Note. If you’re on the lookout for a lightweight moisturizer with SPF, definitely check this one out. Also, I love that it never causes break outs on me.

Dagne Dover Dakota Backpack

Before my trip, I wanted a new travel backpack. I needed something that was lightweight, comfortable, and big enough to hold my massive (very very old) laptop and camera equipment. I’ve never been into backpacks, but this Dagne Dover backpack has changed my mind. I freaking love it and now carry it to the studio with me every day.

Gucci Flora Emerald Gardenia perfume

Most of the fragrances I wear have felt too fall/winter lately. I wanted something brighter, fresher, and maybe even floral for the summer months. While in Florence, I picked up the latest fragrance launch from Gucci called Flora Emerald… and I AM OBSESSED. It’s really different from what I usually wear, but the notes of lemon, sandalwood, and musk make it feel a little bit familiar, too.

Redecker Natural Fiber Bristle Pot Brush

Ok, maybe there’s just one product for our kitchen in this post… Anyways! I decided it was time to ditch our plastic scrub brush and use a wooden one instead. I love how this Redecker brush fits in my hand and works really well. Also, it’s cuuuuute and not plastic!

Davines SU Hair & Body Wash*

I’m pretty much the biggest Davines fan girl around, so naturally I am loving the SU Hair & Body Wash. I brought the travel size with me to Italy. It smells so good and works well as both a shampoo and body wash, which I think is rare.

So these are my 9 fave products from June! If you have any tips or requests for July, let me know.
