9 Things of Note in August 2019

So ummm our wedding is in 11 days. HOW NUTS IS THAT. August has literally flown by and I can’t believe it. Most of the purchases we’ve made this month are wedding-related, but there are still a few things of note I want to share with you — especially my new M.M. LaFleur pants. I’m mildly obsessed with them! Let’s dig in.

Joanna’s Things of Note from August 2019 (including M.M. LaFleur, Dr. Jart & more)

As always, please note that a few of these items have been gifted to me. I have indicated that with an asterisk * next to the name of the product. As usual though, I am only sharing what I have absolutely loved and would spend ‘real money’ on regardless.

Le Parfait Wide Mouth Glass French Terrines

I’m working on getting the kitchen organized more and more. I’ve been using these glass jars to organize bulk items like grains, pasta, and beans. I love them and find that the size is totally perfect for storing leftovers, too.

M.M. LaFleur Zhuo Culotte*

I have a few exciting speaking opportunities in the works and I’ve needed some more professional attire. M.M. LaFleur recently had a pop up here in Seattle. I scooped up these pants and a coordinating top… and I’m obsessed! I’ll definitely be shopping for a few more pieces from M.M. LaFleur soon.

Dr. Jart+ V7 Antioxidant Serum*

I’m a forever fan of most Dr. Jart+ products and this serum is no different. I’ve noticed that my skin is brighter and softer after using it for just a few weeks.

Panier Des Sens Precious Jasmine Soap

I randomly picked up this soap in Italy in a shop because I’m currently obsessed with anything jasmine scented. It smells JUST like the jasmine plant and lasts soooo long. I was thrilled to find it on Amazon so I can keep ordering.

The Third Plate by Dan Barber

I read this book at the suggestion of my friend. I mostly enjoyed it despite the author being slightly tedious (and almost entirely glossing over our country’s history of slavery). More than anything, I like that it has me considering more of the ingredients I buy at the store and what I grow in my garden. If you’re interested in learning more about sustainability and food, I recommend borrowing this one form your library.

Davines Love Smoothing Conditioner*

This conditioner used to be a favorite of mine and then I fell out of the habit of using it… I’m back on it and OBSESSED. Especially with the wedding around the corner. I just want my hair to be glossy, smooth, and perfect.

Caboodles On-The-Go Makeup Case*

If you’ve been watching my stories, I recently got a fishing pole because I wanted to embrace my inner child more. After a brand sent me a Caboodle full of skincare products, I decided it would make the perfect tackle box! So far it’s been awesome — and slightly hilarious.

Terrazzo Accent Table Lamp*

I was re-styling our living room shelves the other day and decided we absolutely NEEDED this chic terrazzo table lamp. I love the quirky color palette, oversized Edison bulb, and scale.

Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty

After finishing the first book I mentioned, I needed something a bit… lighter and juicier. Nine Perfect Strangers has been just that for me. It’s an engrossing read that I haven’t been able to put down.

So these are my 9 fave products from August! If you have any tips or requests for September, let me know.
