In this digital age, it’s really easy to get home decor ideas online, but to me, nothing beats an in-person experience. I love traveling for inspiration, wandering local boutiques, and perusing magazines. Anything that is hands on usually equals lots of inspiration for me! Next week I am excited to attend my first ever Seattle Home Show to get even more inspiration for our tiny bungalow and additional interior design projects!

If you’ve never heard of the bi-annual Seattle Home Show, it’s pretty awesome. This is the 21st annual housing extravaganza featuring displays of newest home and garden products. Each home show has a theme and this event is no exception. I’m excited to see how the theme of “Fall Into Focus” is translated into indoor and outdoor decor.

A bit of what you can expect:

There’s a full roster of events, but I wanted to share some of what I am most excited about… and what I think you’ll love, too. There’s a “Meet the Experts” seminar that is brought to you by Innovative Kitchen & Bath. We might have finished the kitchen renovation, but I’m already gathering inspo for our bathroom overhaul. I’m sure this seminar will be really helpful!

Also, I’m excited about live cooking demos by well-known Seattle chefs and live music in the outdoor living area. There’s even going to be a wine and beer garden created by Malone’s Landscape Design Build. Plus, the entire show is interactive because you can vote for your favorite interior design in the annual “People’s Choice” award.

And, lastly, here’s a really fun perk that I’m stoked about: there will be free appraisals by a by nationally known art & antiques appraiser! If you’ve got any heirlooms squirreled away and you don’t know their value, this is the perfect opportunity to finally get that info. Personally, I’m hoping that I can watch some of the appraisals taking place, Antiques Roadshow-style. It’s one of my guilty pleasures, after all.
