Ever since we entered into quarantine, Sean and I have focused on improving our backyard since we can’t escape to the mountains. I shared a bit about the changes we’re making this year, but one of the biggest changes is updating our outdoor furniture. Ironically, I ordered a larger outdoor dining table so that we could entertain more this summer… that was before there was a global pandemic though. As I’ve shared our progress on Instagram, I’ve gotten lots of questions about my favorite sources for outdoor furniture & decor, so I put together this list for you! I hope it helps you get your outdoor space in tip-top shape just in time for summertime.
My List of the BEST Sources for Outdoor Furniture & Decor
This post has the potential to get reallllly long, but I’ll do my best to keep it reasonable… and affordable. There are so many options out there and I’m sure I’ve missed some, but here are my absolute favorite places to shop for outdoor furniture and decor:
Article
We’ve had outdoor dining furniture from Article for many years and, hands down, they are my favorite. I worked with Article for a deck makeover a few years ago and everything we got is still in awesome shape. Our new deck furniture is from them and I cannot wait to show you. I also love them for their interesting use of materials. Everything coordinates well for the most part, so you can combine metal pieces with wood and it looks cohesive. If you’re looking for outdoor furniture that’s built to last and not too expensive, I highly recommend checking out Article.
World Market
We’ve also had outdoor furniture from World Market, specifically an outdoor sofa, chair and coffee table. You can see that post here. Given the average price point, I feel like their stuff is decently constructed and has a lot of variety in styles and materials. As I move away from the boho vibe more and more, I haven’t shopped at World Market as much. There are still some great basics though that could work for pretty much any style though — especially if you shop when they are having a sale.
Urban Outfitters
Honestly, Urban Outfitters is becoming one of my favorite resources for truly unique pieces anywhere in my home. They have so many cool pieces that bring the perfect amount of pop to a space. I was really happy to see that they are offering outdoor furniture and some brightly patterned outdoor rugs. Typically the prices are on the affordable side, too, meaning you can get some major style for not too much cash.
Target
Every time it feels like Target has majorly stepped up their game, they release a new collection and it’s even better. For affordable patio furniture and decorative accents, look no further than Target… especially if you’re totally starting from scratch. It’s basically a one-stop-shop for pillows, chairs, tables, lanterns, string lights, planters… and the list could go on. I’ve also noticed that Target’s shipping is really fast these days, so that’s always a positive when you’re feeling antsy to get outside.
CB2
If I could, I’d live in a CB2 catalog… I love their chic and modern vibe so much. Most of the pieces have clean lines and architectural details that would make most backyards a showstopper. Personally, the head-to-toe look from CB2 isn’t exactly our aesthetic, but I like to mix in touches for a curated look.
I would say those are my top 5 for outdoor furniture and decor, but here are a few more options + some cursory thoughts:
- Anthropologie — typically, they are out of my price range, but can be great for a single item that you want to be a bit more special, like an outdoor rug or cool planter.
- Crate & Barrel — the quality is really great, but I recommend waiting for a sale.
- Stori Modern — the patio furniture around our firepit is from them and it is SO WELL-MADE, but also pricey.
- Terrain — I basically want my entire yard to look like a Terrain photoshoot, but it’s usually out of our price range. Lots of inspiration and every once in a while, they have an AMAZING sale that’s worth splurging on.
- Rejuvenation — I love their lighting, but did you know they have chic outdoor furniture?? It’s definitely an investment, but such a gorgeous addition — especially if you want a chic bistro table.
