9 Things of Note | August 2020

August is truly one of the weirdest months I’ve lived through. Between deciding to move on a whim, selling our house, and buying a new one… woof. I haven’t done much shopping, except for a few summer essentials. I realized at one point that it’s been a long time since I really bought any clothing (especially underwear), so I picked up a few inexpensive, easy dresses from H&M. Also, I read Untamed, which was SO good. So let’s dig into my 9 things of note from the past month!

Joanna’s Things of Note from August 2020 (including Untamed, H&M dresses & more)

As always, please note that a few of these items have been gifted to me. I have indicated that with an asterisk * next to the name of the product. As usual though, I am only sharing what I have absolutely loved and would spend ‘real money’ on regardless.

Airy dress

It’s actually been pretty hot in Seattle, which means I needed a few easy, inexpensive dresses to throw on. I love this one because it’s got a cute floral print and is only $20! The silhouette is pretty shape-less, so it looks great with a jacket if the temp drops at night.

Untamed by Glennon Doyle

I am probably realllly late to the party on this, but this book is SO GOOD. You know when you’re reading something and it aligns perfectly with where you’re at with day-to-day life? That’s literally how this one was for me. I usually read on Kindle, but I’m planning to get this one on paper because it’s definitely a book I plan to re-read during different stages of life.

Dagne Dover Dakota backpack

I know I’ve shared this in the past, but I have to share it again because I’ve been getting so much use out of it! My workspace is in flux now because our house is being sold, so I’ve used this backpack as my office on-the-go. It holds my laptop, cords, papers, notebooks, and pretty much everything else I could possibly need to work — no matter where I am.

Caldrea linen & room spray

I love linen spray because there’s nothing better than getting into bed and having it smell wonderful. This one ins lavender & cedar leaf is subtle, but definitely makes our home smell great. I definitely gave the whole house a once over with it before anyone toured the house while it was on the market!

Wire egg basket

I found one of these in Sean’s dad’s basement and it’s sooooo good. The perfect way to gather eggs — and really pretty.

Face mask from Bunglo*

This is definitely the sturdiest mask I’ve added to my collection this summer! This mask is made of organic cotton and has some reallly cute prints from one of my favorite textile designers, Shay Spaniola. The earloops are woven elastic, while the fabric is double layered. It’s a great option for keeping you safe!

Stori Coffee*

I am looooving the beans I got from Stori Coffee recently. The flavor is really subtle, light, and almost floral-y. They make an awesome Americano, lemme just say! It’s a new company that focuses on the transparency and integrity of the coffee-making process. You can learn all about the farmers themselves, while also seeing how they grow the coffee you’re drinking. Definitely check it out!

AGOLDE Parker ultra high-rise denim shorts

I’m here to tell you that the hype is REAL for these shorts. It took a while to find any in stock and Anthro finally seems to have a decent amount. I got mine a few weeks ago and have barely taken them off since then.

So these are my 9 fave products from August! If you have any tips or requests for September, leave a comment and let me know. I’m not sure what next month will bring for us, especially since we’ll be moving… but you never know!
