I am SO excited about this post for two reasons: it’s finally time for fall decor (my personal fave) and this is your first peek of what our new house looks like! I teamed up with Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart to make our front porch a bit more inviting. Even though we just moved in (literally, last week), I couldn’t help myself! I was stocking up on groceries and simply had to bring home a few pumpkins and mums to start decorating for fall. And that chair? Well, it might just be my new favorite thing!

Simple Fall Decorating To Make a House a Home
Interior design and styling will always be my passion — especially when it comes to fall decor. It’s simply my favorite season and I think that makes creating beautiful vignettes in my home even easier. Adding natural elements is another styling trick of mine. If you’ve been reading the blog for a while, you know that I always incorporate plants whenever possible. And Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart makes it so easy (and affordable) to do that. I was able to score all of these plants and pumpkins for less than $100!

As soon as I perused the Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart collection, I immediately knew this stationary wicker egg chair had to be mine. I’ve always wanted an egg chair and this one is perfect! My obsession with it is so strong that I actually had it shipped to our old house and then moved it with the rest of our stuff… patient person, I am not. But it’s SO worth it. Our front porch gets the most gorgeous afternoon fall light, so I’ve been enjoying sitting in this spot and reading.

And every chair needs a decorative pillow, right? So I added this buffalo plaid throw pillow for a touch of PNW charm. It’s a bit of a hint for you about what I have planned decor-wise for the rest of our new home!

And my finishing touch are these rustic lanterns. I have the feeling that we’ll be getting a LOT of use out of lanterns like this at the new house. There’s just so much outdoor space and so many ways to creatively light it. The next time I go shopping at Walmart, I plan to pick up a few flameless candles to put in them. Those are much safer now that we live in the forest!

Our new home definitely has a LOT of work to be done (hello, that dated light fixture)… but I am so incredibly happy to have this area decorated for fall. Even just walking up to our front door and seeing it makes such a difference in helping us to feel more settled.

So, tell me: have you started decorating for fall?? What do you think of our new house? Leave a comment and let me know!
