I hope you’re in the midst of a truly wonderful holiday season and ready for Christmas later this week! I’m wrapping up my last few gifts and planning our dinner menu, but otherwise taking things a lotttt slower. It feels great! This will be my last blog post of 2021, which is wild to even think about. So I wanted to just take a minute to share how grateful I am for your support this year. From Instagram messages of encouragement and pet photos to engaging with the sponsored content that I work so hard to produce to supporting The Jojotastic School of Social Media, every ounce of your time and energy is deeply appreciated. I wouldn’t be able to do this without you, so thank you and happy holidays from the bottom of my heart!
The Tiny Zoo
Diamond has become quite the snow aficionado… she now obsessively rings her bell to go outside and play in it. Even if she’s just come inside! I’m so glad she’s been loving the snow we are getting this year, it definitely makes living out here a bit easier. Noodle is decidedly not a fan of the snow, but he’s been hanging in there and accepting it. I think he is ok with it, if it means he gets to come back inside to sleep next to the woodstove.
Georgette is… Georgette. She sleeps a lot, demands food any time she can even remotely see the bottom of her food bowl, and hates Diamond. So no real change there.
As for the chickens, I’m really sad to report that Nancy Kerrigan, one of my very first chickens, passed away. She fell ill very quickly and by the time I found her, it was just too late unfortunately. It’s always hard on me when I lose a chicken, I love them so much. But with Nancy, it was even harder. She was my favorite from the start and she had such a special personality.
I’m still hanging in there, got my booster and feeling good! I have had some back pain recently, but increasing my yoga practice and stretching has helped a ton. Also, foam rollers are literally magic and have helped a ton.
This is now our second winter in the cabin and it’s been a lot snowier this year, which I LOVE. It finally feels like we live in the mountains and I just love how peaceful and pretty everything is when the snow is falling. Every time I’ve woken up to a blanket of snow, even just a few inches, it instantly puts me in a good mood.
I’m on pause a bit with major renovation projects lately, mostly so I can catch my breath after a big year of projects and work. I’ve been doing some smaller projects around the house, aimed toward finishing things up. Like I am finally putting outlet covers back in spots that have been just an open outlet and junction box for months. Paint touch ups, hanging a few more pieces of art, re-organizing the kitchen… that sort of stuff.
Business + My Blog
Wowwww what a year it has BEEN for my business!! Not only did I launch my private mentoring program, but I had my busiest year yet creating content for some amazing brands. I am so proud of everything I’ve accomplished this year, as well as the strides I’ve made toward bringing on more support. Having behind-the-scenes help means I can do more and evolve, which is so exciting and I can’t wait to share more of what that means in 2022. Big things are coming, get ready.
Since Sean is home for the holidays, we made a pact to not do any major home projects during this time and instead to just relax and enjoy living here in the North Cascades. It’s so nice to have this extra time with him and not spending it rushing to meet work deadlines or working on house stuff.
So that’s a snapshot of what life’s been like for us in the month of December! As always, thank you so much for following along on our journey and being so wonderfully supportive of everything I share here and on social media. Have an amazing holiday and happy new year — I will see you in 2022!
