It’s been a while since I did one of these round ups here on the blog. Typically, if I buy something and love it, I share it on Instagram. But since it’s been so long, I felt like a dedicated blog post was in order! If you’re in the market for a high quality speaker, the coziest sweaters, a great moisturizer for winter skin, plastic-free laundry detergent, and the perfect rice paper shade — then you’re in the right place!
5 Things I Bought Recently & Love (Laundry Sheets, Cozy Sweaters, The Perfect Rice Paper Shade and more!)

Sonos Five Wireless Smart Speaker
I am not exactly an audiophile or expert in tech or speakers… but I do love to listen to loud music sometimes. Especially now that we live in the sticks and no one is around to hear it. I recently posted to my Instagram Stories asking for recommendations and SO many people said Sonos was the best. And, of course, me being me, I had to go big.
So I chose the larger size within the Sonos wireless speaker family… and I freaking LOVE it. Yes, it was expensive, but it brings me so much joy. This speaker is exactly what I wanted, sounds great, and I already want a second one so I can set up more of a surround sound. Highly recommend!

Babaa Sweaters
I touched on this briefly in my post about winter weather clothing a few weeks ago… but it deserves being brought up again. I bought 2 sweaters from Babaa when they were having sale (the jumper no17 and cardigan no19) and they are truly wonderful.
At first I was worried they were too itchy, but I’ve either gotten used to it or they’ve softened, which I heard can happen with consistent wear. Every time I get dressed, I find myself reaching for them because I feel chic wearing them with little effort… and they are just so warm and cozy. I know they are pricy, but I feel like they are a great investment piece that I will have for years to come so I am ok with it.

Skinfix Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Face Cream
The air in our cabin is so much dryer than when we lived in Seattle, most likely because it’s colder here and we use a fire for heat. So I’ve been looking for richer moisturizers to combat this. I picked this one up thanks to an Instagram Reels that I saw and have loved it. It doesn’t have a strong scent which is important to me, plus it’s nice and rich. It does a great job and makes my skin soooo soft.
The only ‘complaint’ I have is that the packaging is REALLY a lot of plastic. But it also dispenses the product sooo well. My hope is that they will eventually sell the product as a refill? Do skincare companies even do that? They really should.

Sheets Laundry Club Laundry Sheets
I am forever on the quest to reduce our plastic usage here in the cabin and in our lives in general. So as much as I love the Mrs. Meyer’s basil scent, I decided to try laundry sheets instead. They come packaged in a paper box that we can use to start fires in our wood stove and the sheets fully dissolve in the wash, making them an awesome zero waste swap for us.
As far as I can tell, they wash and clean the laundry just as well as normal detergent. My only complaint is that I wish they had a scent that lasted a bit longer… mostly because I love that clean laundry scent when I get into bed!

Hay Rice Paper Shade, 80 cm
I always love the simplicity and warm glow that a giiiiiant rice paper orb gives to a room. I recently picked up one of these from Hay for the den side of our gear room and it is exactly what the space needed. We have it set up so that it’s plugged into an outlet that’s controlled by a switch.
Don’t forget that it does not come with the cord set. I picked up this basic cord kit to finish the overall look.

So what do you think of this round up?? Have you tried any of these items? Let me know if you’d like me to keep sharing this type of post! I know it’s sort of a hodge podge, but all of these things are stuff I’ve really enjoyed lately.
