Monthly Life Update, April 2022

Stay updated on my latest adventures!
spring flowers and foliage flat lay. A quick life update about my health, our cabin, our pets, my business, and more.

April truly flew by and I can’t even believe it. We’re still waiting for full blown spring here in the mountains, but I’m hopefully that it will arrive any day now… please. It’s been a long winter and I’m ready to get into my gardening more and more! But instead it’s been randomly snowing sometimes which I am not a fan of. While I love the snow, I’ve had enough! But I digress. Here’s a recap of what the month of April was like for us!

The Cabin

Now that our bedroom is finished and we’re nearly complete with vanity area, the house is getting more and more settled. And I LOVE IT. I’ve been having these pinch-me moments where I can’t believe it’s our home. I’m just so proud of how my vision has turned out and how cozy it is. It’s literally become exactly what I have in mind and it’s just… wow. So huge.

The Tiny Zoo

April marks the one year anniversary of Lucy passing, so it’s been an emotional time for us. I miss that sweet creature so much sometimes that it turns and I can’t believe it’s been a year.

My Health

No news is good news!

Business + My Blog

The biggest thing to happen for my business this month is that I went viral on both TikTok and Instagram with some videos I’ve been sharing. The series is meant to poke fun at the quirks of our cabin and are framed as questions I want to ask the man who built our house. Well, apparently they are quite popular with people!

I have to say, going viral is a very interesting thing. I wasn’t really emotionally prepared for the sheer volume of comments, opinions, and criticisms. And also by the number of people who simply didn’t get that the videos are satire. Plus totally unnecessary comments about my physical appearance…? But choosing to be positive about it, I have finally seen growth on my stagnant Instagram account for the first time in SO long. Actually, being totally transparent, I have never experienced growth like this on any social media platform despite how hard I’ve worked at it!

I’m seriously so grateful that my content has gotten this boost, especially because stats play such a key role in my ability to monetize my content and work with brands. If I ever do get to finally meet the guy who built our house, I definitely owe him a nice thank you gift ;)

Us

I got extra time with Sean this month because he was home resting up after a snowmobiling mishap (he’s fine now, thankfully). As much as I don’t like seeing him hurt, it was also kiiiind of nice to have his company during the week! Both of us are just so ready for it to be warmer so we can go adventuring together.

So that’s a snapshot of what life’s been like for us in the month of April! As always, thank you so much for following along on our journey and being so wonderfully supportive of everything I share here and on social media.
