It feels like September went by in the blink of an eye and I’m not quite ready to give up summer just yet… but fall is definitely descending quickly here in the Pacific Northwest! To get into the autumnal spirit, I’ve been queueing up a few fun fall movie nights in our newly completed TV room (more on that soon, I swear!). Now I feel inspired to pull out the wool sweaters… maybe. Here are some movies at the top of my list, but please let me know what else I should add!
Cozy Up For a Fall Movie Night with These Fave Flicks

You’ve Got Mail
Not only does the nostalgic of the dial up sound make me happy, there’s just something about this movie that makes it perfect for fall. Maybe it’s that the movie follows the corner of many seasons. Or maybe it’s just the magic of Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks that makes me feel instantly romantic and cozy. Regardless, I always make sure to watch this classic movie in the fall.

Hocus Pocus
Another amazingly classic fall movie! This one definitely gets me in the Halloween spirit. Personally, I love seeing Sarah Jessica Parker pre-SATC. And nothing quite beats a talking cat in my opinion.

The Craft
This witchy cult classic movie totally had to make my list, especially given how much the ’90s are trending right now. It’s also such an inspiring fall film because the styling of the costumes is just phenomenal. I remember being in private school and desperately wishing I could copy the fashion choices from this movie… but never being actually gutsy enough to do it!

Beetlejuice
I was obsessed with this movie as a kid and now it’s the fastest way to get me in the Halloween spirit. I could probably recite the entire movie to you… which may or may not get on Sean’s nerves during our fall movie date night in. From the Harry Belafonte dance scene to the costumes and set design… and young Winona Ryder… Beetlejuice is a personal fave.
Those are my top 3 fall movies that I’ll be watching this year for sure… but in case you want more, here are some other recommendations:
- Fantastic Mr. Fox
- Sleepy Hollow
- Ghostbusters
- Good Will Hunting
- E.T.
- The Addams Family
- When Harry Met Sally
- Practical Magic
- Mystic Pizza

What other fall movies are you binging these days?? I’m always looking for more recommendations, so leave a comment and let me know!
