Disclosure: For this post, I received products to review from April Notes. All opinions are my own and always will be! Thanks for supporting content that keeps Jojotastic going.
Andy’s birthday was this past weekend and, here in the cabin, we take birthdays seriously! I love entertaining, so literally I will take any excuse to set a pretty table, make a nice dinner, and bake a cake. When April Notes, a thoughtful home linens brand, reached out to send me some of their product, I knew it was the perfect time to style a cozy yet casual table. Here’s a peek at the warm neutral European linen textiles I chose, plus a bit more about this small business that I am currently obsessing over!

Meet April Notes & Check Out How I Styled These Earth-Friendly Home Linens
About April Notes
Admittedly, I was new to April Notes when they reached out to me. But if you’ve been following me for a while, you know that my love of high-quality European linen is deep. So when I saw that founder Leva’s mission is to connect the old with the new and encourage others to decorate with the goal of harmony with oneself, nature, and others.
Their priority is function and style over fleeting trends to create versatile products that will stand the test of time. With an approach to sourcing earth-friendly materials that minimize environmental impact, their on-demand manufacturing model eliminates textile waste. According to their About page, April Notes “pushes the envelope on sustainability so you can manifest a more mindful home.”
As a former textile designer, I am wow-ed by the beautiful softness of the linen fabric itself. The colors are saturated in exactly the right way, while the stitching is uniform and simple. The weight of the linen is also exactly what it should be; not too heavy and not too thin. These are definitely a premium quality linen that will get better with age.

A Cozy Casual Color Palette
I chose our new table linens from April Notes to be great for everyday use, but also in an elevate color palette for special occasions. I wanted a neutral array of colors, but still with an unexpected pop. I love the rich tone of the Almond Linen Napkin Set juxtaposed against a neutral flax linen for the Linen Placemat Set. It’s neutral, but a bit more fun because it isn’t matchy-matchy.
I absolutely adore a layered tablescape. There’s something about layering your table linens that has always felt elevated and more polished to me. That’s why I added the Sunset Rose Linen Table Runner over the Beige Linen Stripe Tablecloth. Plus, having both on-hand now means I can set the table with one or the other for a totally different look.

Curated Special Touches to Elevate
A girlfriend of mine is an avid Glassybaby collector and was kind enough to lend me somme for the table. Every time I light a tealight and put it in one of their handmade candle holders, I’m always wow-ed by how much they change when illuminated. Plus, each one is unique and so special. They brought the perfect amount of cozy candle light and simple decor to Andy’s birthday dinner party.

Our Daily Use Dishes and Flatware
And lastly, I used our everyday dinnerware from Our Place. The simple clean lines are perfect for dressing up or dressing down. And I love how the rim matches the napkins! The final addition to this cozy casual table is our matte gold flatware that we’ve had for ages. This set is so simple and goes with everything. I love how it all came together — so simple, yet so cozy!
