🎀 the ribbon tree 🎀 I’ve wanted to do this

🎀 the ribbon tree 🎀 I’ve wanted to do this for YEARS — I even have a Pinterest board dedicated to all the inspiring ribbon-covered Christmas trees I’ve seen over the years... and 2023 is finally the year! I was asked for a few DIY tips the last time I posted her, so here’s a quick rundown:
🌲 Skinnier ribbon was easier for me, I recommend 1/4” up to 1” and mix the different types of ribbon: satin, velvet, grosgrain, solid color, striped
🌲 I have no idea how many yards of ribbon I used and it would depend on the size of your tree. Just order a LOT and return what you don’t use
🌲 Do your lights first
🌲 Each bow is literally tied on by hand individually... so bring your patience
🌲 Some bows will drape perfectly and some will require zhushing. I had the best luck with a looser knot around the tree branch with a tighter bow
🌲 Add a few ball ornaments (mine are vintage) if you’re feeling fancy!
And lastly... yes those are empty boxes that I wrapped in kraft paper and tied ribbins around — my geriatric cat likes to pee on any textile that touches the floor, so this is what I like to call ‘compromise’ 🙃 Any more questions about the ribbon tree? Leave a comment!
