On Monday, Sean and I celebrated our first year of marriage and I have some feelings about it! Honestly, the first year passed incredibly quickly. So many people told me it would be the hardest year, especially as we figure things out… but that wasn’t really the case. Maybe because our first year of marriage included a global pandemic, my diagnosis with a rare genetic condition, and now us buying a new house together and moving… but I wanted to take some time to ‘put pen to paper’ and consider what this past year has meant for us as a couple.Continue reading “Looking Back on Our First Year of Marriage”
Our mountaintop wedding was just over 6 months ago and I am SO EXCITED to finally be able to share our photos and video with you today! I definitely needed a little bit of a pick me up (because of sheltering in place, morale is a little bit low), so it felt like the perfect time to share ALL of the details from September 7, 2019. BTW I included a vendor list for every aspect of our day. From my dress to rentals to Sean’s shoes… it should all be here! But leave a comment if I missed something and I’ll update the post. Without further ado, let’s look at our wedding photos and videos!!!
The video above is our full length wedding video! I also have the trailer linked below so you can watch it, too.Continue reading “Our Mountaintop Wedding Photos & Video”
Now that I’m on the other side of our wedding, I am able to say it was alllll worth it. As stressful and time consuming as the process was, our wedding day was truly wonderful. So I’m here today to tell you that if you’re going down that path instead of eloping (which we definitely considered!), it will get better! I also want to be a resource for you if you’re planning a wedding, so I asked my Instagram followers what I could answer about this process. This list covers wedding venues, what I’d do differently, how to start the process, whether you need a videographer and MORE.Continue reading “Q&A: Wedding Venues, Planning, Photography & More”
We’re married!!!!! It will be a full week tomorrow and we couldn’t be loving life more. I’m so ready to share more and more details of our special day, but until then, you can see everything I’ve shared on my Instagram. I created a highlight in case you missed anything. Every detail of the day was so special and perfect. And we’re so grateful for everyone’s well wishes for our big day! Trust me, there will be a lotttt of posts coming all about the wedding.

Holy cow. Our wedding is TOMORROW. Somehow I feel like this day has come really quickly, but also has taken forever to get here… all at the same time! I know tomorrow will be a whirlwind of friends, family, and activity. But it’s oh-so-important to me that I’m able to stay present and enjoy each moment. Because of that, I came up with a wedding day self care plan that will hopefully help me stay grounded and in the moment. Here is what I’ve come up with:Continue reading “My Wedding Day Self Care Plan”
Disclosure: For this post, I received product from Trophy Cupcakes. All opinions are my own and always will be! Thanks for supporting content that keeps Jojotastic going.
Being a blogger has brought me so many incredible opportunities, especially now that we’re getting married. A great example is when Seattle-based bakery Trophy Cupcakes reached out to be part of our big day! We’re lucky enough that they are going to provide the desserts for our wedding — YUM. After calming down from the excitement of receiving that email, I realized we needed to set up a wedding cake tasting session! Then I realized I had no idea what we were doing… so I did some research and wanted to share some cake tasting tips for the future brides and grooms out there.Continue reading “Wedding Cake Tasting Tips”
Being totally frank, I wasn’t sure if I should publish this post or not. There’s a fine line between being transparent and airing my family’s dirty laundry. But I conducted an Instagram poll and got a resounding YES that this is a topic you’re all wanting to hear about, so here we go. Here’s another disclaimer, too: I know that this is public and on the internet and will be seen by my family. I’ve reached a point where I simply don’t care. At the end of the day, I will always be transparent and open with my blog readers. You deserve nothing less. And, quite frankly, this is a conversation that needs to be held in the open so that more women can feel safe in setting boundaries while wedding planning.
I also asked the self-care coach with whom I’ve been working for the past 6 months to chime in. After all, she is the expert! So meet Tami Hackbarth. We’ll both be giving our take on what it means to set boundaries while wedding planning.Continue reading “The Importance of Setting Boundaries While Wedding Planning”
