ICYMI: I need your help with a design conundrum in ICYMI: I need your help with a design conundrum in our cabin! 💡 There is one area in our cabin that desperately needs lighting before the short, dark days of fall and winter arrive and that area is the hallway upstairs! You’re probably wondering to yourself, “what lighting??” Well, it’s time to come clean: I Photoshop out the junction boxes every time I share a photo of this space 🫠 check out the options & leave a comment with your vote! Here are the options: OPTION 1, slides 5-6: Cylindrical sconces — In my mind either of these 2 options are the simplest, most straightforward option… but will they look odd on an angled ceiling?? OPTION 2, slides 7-8 Articulating sconces — To be totally honest, I think this is the style of fixture I am most leaning toward. I like that each of the modern flush mount lights have articulating arms without adding too much length. This will be nice for positioning each light for maximum illumination on the walkway. OPTION 3, slide 9: Light bar — Even though this is meant to be a wall sconce, I think it could function well as a flush mount ceiling light. That being said, I am not convinced it’s the right one for this project. My concern is that 3 of them would read as lines across the ceiling and visually compete with the wood beams on the ceiling. They could be orientated parallel to the other beam, but is that too institutional looking?? Shop the post + see more on Jojotastic.com

Summer meals al fresco… there’s nothing better Summer meals al fresco… there’s nothing better! ☀️ #AD I especially love entertaining during the summer months, and my latest go-to is my easy Greek chicken souvlaki rice bowl recipe, made with grilling essentials from Pioneer Marketplace including Mahatma Jasmine Rice and Pompeian Olive Oil! I was able to easily pick up all of the ingredients needed for this delicious summer meal, plus a few more entertaining staples! It’s so great to be able to stock up on everything I need in one place - Easy as 1,2,3 - Shop, buy, save! Plus, there is a fab Summer Grilling & Entertaining sweepstakes from amazing Northwest Grocers! Chicken Souvlaki Bowl Recipe (save this recipe!): Step 1: Marinade chicken overnight in olive oil, lemon juice, dry white wine, minced garlic, and salt and pepper. Step 2: Make the rice. Then cut bell peppers and onions into kabob-size pieces and drizzle with olive oil and salt and pepper. Step 3: Make the kabobs by alternating vegetables and chicken on the skewers. Preheat the grill on high. Step 4: Grill the souvlaki skewers until golden with a bit of crisp charcoal on the edges. To serve, remove the chicken and vegetables from the skewers and place over the rice. Top with slices of cucumber and tomatoes, then top with a drizzle of olive oil and fresh dill. Feta cheese is optional, but always heavily encouraged! @commonthreadam

I’m so proud of how much work we put into it and how satisfying its been to harvest greens, herbs & tomatoes already. STORY TIME 🍿 So this one time, I was cleaning t STORY TIME 🍿 So this one time, I was cleaning the guest room and noticed A Smell™️ anyone who’s lived in an old building knows it… the smell of a dead mouse in the wall 🤢 so naturally I got the crowbar and hammer… and the rest is history. I ripped out a vanity that didn’t have a sink but had lots of body hair & caked on makeup from the previous owners. Found more mice and a really frightening opening to the crawlspace. Demo-ed the early 90s Tuscan style tile, added character with leftover beadboard from our bedroom, and installed fixtures I saved from projects in my previous homes. And a lot more… But the showstopper for me is the black paint. I’ve always wanted a black bathroom! We’ve lived with this impulsive bathroom transformation for a year now and it’s held up so well, especially our @chasingpaper peel and stick floor tiles (check my blog for a full review on them)! It makes me so happy to have a comfortable place for guests, even when the rest of the cabin is a work-in-progress. #cabinrenovation #cabindecor #blackbathroom #bathroomtransformation #bathroomdecor
