The Weekend Edit

What a week — it’s been so darn hot here in Seattle and we don’t have air conditioning! The heat broke for a few days recently, but it’s building again. I’m just not great at dealing with it, so I’ve been stocking up on popsicles, drinking lots of lemonade, and finding a breeze whenever I can. We have a few guests staying at the bungalow this weekend, so Sean and I are planning to stay on the boat to give them space (more on that here). I’m really looking forward to it because it’s always so much cooler on the boat — and it feels like we’re on a bit of an adventure!

The Weekend Edit 9

Happy Friday, friends! I’m posting The Weekend Edit  a day early AGAIN, this time from Maryland. Sean and I are in town so he can meet my parents and see a bit of where I grew up. It’s sort of like hometown dates on The Bachelorette… but not. HA. I can’t believe how much has changed in my hometown since I was here last. It’s definitely been an experience to show Sean around but also to feel like a stranger here myself. And, of course, it’s been great to see family, eat home cooked meals, and take some time off. I’ll be back to my regular posting schedule next week and have some really great posted lined up, so be sure to stay tuned.

The Weekend Edit of July, 7th: moody dahlias, summer flowers

Happy Friday, friends! I’m posting The Weekend Edit a day early because I’m in Philadelphia for a few days visiting my bff who is pregnant with twins! I want to savor every moment possible with her, so I’m sort of slacking with posts. Our plan for my visit is eat at all of my old favorite haunts and to help her finish styling the nursery (and other rooms in her house) before the babies come. We might even take some photos of her home because I’ve been doing a bit of interior design consulting for her, too! Would you be interested in seeing more??

The Weekend Edit of June, 30th - sailboat marina in Seattle, WA. #sailboats #boatlife #marine #nautical #seattle #ballard

This week has felt like the actual longest week ever. From (still) battling my jet lag to losing my mind over current events, it’s definitely felt like a high-stress situation. But let’s talk about something less pressing, k? I’ve been watching The Staircase on Netflix this week and — holy crap — I am obsessed. Sean’s sister and I have been debating the merits of the case over text and I am so torn! Have you seen it? If so, do you think he did it?? If you’re looking for a good binge show this weekend, please put this one at the top of your queue.

ps – I am re-dedicating myself to actually sending out a weekly newsletter (I sort of fell out of practice with it!), so if you’re not already on the list be sure to sign up here for exclusive content and behind-the-scenes peeks!

The Weekend Edit - pink climbing roses in Varenna, Italy on Lake Como

Happy weekend, you guys! I’ve been back from Italy for 3 days and let me just be honest…. the jet lag is real. I’m sort of delirious and struggling to avoid napping. If you’ve got any tips for combatting jet lag, leave ’em below in the comments. My plan for the weekend is to do some weeding in the garden, plan our meals for the week, and sleep sleep sleep.

Happy Saturday and greetings from Italy! I’ve been absolutely loving my time here… eating carbs, drinking incredible wine, learning so much from Annette Joseph… this trip is such a dream. It’s only been a few days, bu I already feel inspired and refreshed. Sean is going to meet me soon so we can travel around more after my workshop concludes…. and eat more! God, the food on this trip… And for those of you asking, I will absolutely post recaps of my entire time here. Stay tuned for that ;)

I still have lots of time traveling around Italy, so be sure to follow along on Instagram to catch all my adventures first!
