After living out of a suitcase for the last 3 weeks, there are certain items in my wardrobe that I simply want to burn and never see again. I am that over them. Couple that with the month of January, which has always felt like a great time to refresh and, well… I’m left with these crazy desires to scrap my old standbys and start over. Kind of convenient for packing for my big move, huh?
One of my biggest takeaways is that I am loving all things borrowed from the past. What’s old feels new all over again to me. Those extra flared jeans? Love ’em. Oh, and that tie dye cable knit sweater? It’s sort of the perfect balance of nautical preppy and hippie dippie boho. The pricetag is a bit steep, but I’m guessing I can thrift a copycat version and dye it myself. I sense a DIY post coming…
Lately I’ve been wanting to wear fancier basics: shift dresses in elegant colors like deep pine, embellished silky blouses in place of knit tees, and lots of glittery necklaces.
Then there are the accessories. Cream leather mules, how can you even go wrong? Plus I sort of feel like suede is having a moment. The dusty quality really lends itself to deep, saturated hues. I also love the way suede wears into a burnished finish, especially on shoes.
