I think by now we all know that I am a loud and proud, card carrying cat lady. I’m totally obsessed with my sweet, little love muffin Georgette. She’s been with me ever since she fit in the palm of my hand and has moved across the country with me 3 times! Our bond is quite strong, so I was delighted when Purina reached out to me to talk about her and why it’s so important to adopt and donate to shelters.
Did you know that each year, approximately 3.4 million United States cats are taken in by animal shelters and only half of those cats are adopted? That number alone breaks my heart. Georgette was adopted and I couldn’t even picture my life without her. When I’m upset or in a bad mood, all she has to do is come up to me and rest her little chin on my arm. Then I suddenly feel a little bit better. We’ve been through so much together — Am I nuts to call her my best friend??
With Purina’s Nutrition to Build Better Lives program, they are helping to bring awareness to providing good nutrition for cats in shelters. During the month of July, for every bag of Purina Cat Chow you purchase for your cat, a meal will be donated to a cat in need at a shelter. Their goal is to donate 5 million meals from July 1 through July 31! Find out even more here.
As a former animal shelter volunteer, I can’t quite express the impact donations of this amount have. 5 million meals would make a huge difference.
With all of my moves and all of life’s ups and downs, Georgette has been there through it all. She comforts me, snuggles me, and makes me laugh with her antics as she chases flies around my fixer upper. In a way, she completes me and my little family.

How nice. Did Purina also inform you about the cruel animal testings theie conducting?! Did you gather information before falling for their product placement?! Wouldn’t quite fit to your little pinkk blogger-world, would it?! Quit disturbing to read all those cheering posts.
Love you, Georgette!
