Welp… The grey has set in here in Seattle. You’d think that has me craving brighter colors, but instead I find myself loving richer, moody hues. Even the look of my instagrams feels dulled and dimmer. I strongly suspect the faded light quality here is inspiring this shift!
I recently picked up this gorgeous vase at Reliquary in San Francisco and I’m positively obsessed with it. Blue and white are essentially a staple in my home, but that can very often feel too summery for this darker, dreamier light. This time at the flower market I went for super-dark blooms and leaves, then softened it a bit with tiny sprigs of baby’s breath.

The flowers I used in this arrangement are:
- chocolate cosmos
- baby’s breath
I kept this moody, but pretty arrangement on my marble dining table — it was the perfect little touch for late Sunday morning brunch.
What do you think — are you ready to embrace the moodier hues of fall?
More flower inspiration, right this way.
