my cozy studio nook + my recent styling work for Urban Outfitters

I’ve been doing more and more styling work lately and loving every minute of it. 2016 has been all about finding new avenues for my creativity and signing more styling gigs was one key facet. I’ve dabbled in styling for each shoot that you see here on Jojotastic, but doing it on a professional level has always been a goal of mine. I’m still working on building my portfolio (more on that here!), so I wanted to share a bit of my recent work for Urban Outfitters + a peek into my new studio space!

As soon as I signed the lease for my new space, I knew I wanted to have a chill hangout corner. A place to sit and flip through magazines while sipping coffee. Or a place to brainstorm photoshoot ideas away from the computer. Or… a place to nap. Floor pillows are an essential element.

I also layered on shaggy, Moroccan-inspired pillows and a throw for a boho vibe that’s also really neutral in color. I’m still figuring out the color palette for the space because I have SO many props that are every color imaginable and it can get a bit visually overwhelming in here.

I strung up lots of mini fairy lights and used washi tape to secure them to the walls. Wireless speakers are essential, too. Light a candle and let the inspiration flow.

And I’m just sort of obsessed with how good the light is in this shot.

Thank you so much! And those candles… man, I love them! I’m planning to repurpose the concrete vessel into a planter.

it’s like you read my mind – that’s half the reason I want one! Propagating a couple succulents now that will need a home soon :)

haha! then you should DEFINITELY get one. i miiiight have picked the fragrance based on the color of the vessel… and succulents would be so cute in it! I’m thinking I’ll do pothos — I have loads of that that I can cut and propagate.

Totally support that. I have some pathos at my desk at work. or as my coworkers call it, the jungle that I work in. ok, so there’s not enough room at home for all my plants :)
