my February skincare + beauty edit (with Butter London, Milani, Elemis & more!)

In the midst of last week’s travel, I forgot to share my skincare and beauty edit for the month of February! I didn’t really have much of an opportunity to try tons of products last month, but there were still a few stand-out products I had to share with you guys. I also changed up a few things in my haircare routine, so there are a few hair products mixed into this post as well!

Makeup:

I didn’t buy much new makeup in February,  but still got a few pieces that were notable. In the world of highlighters, I started using (and loving) Milani’s Hypnotic Lights highlighter in Luster Light and Butter London’s Glazen Face Glow. Both achieve a really subtle, but buildable sheen that I love. The Glazen Face Glow is especially nice when I’m going for a more minimal day-to-day makeup look and I just want a tiny bit of glow. I also really love it layered on top of eyeshadows.

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m super pale, which I combat with a bit of bronzer. The Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer is the darling of beauty Youtube, but I’m here to tell you that it is legit. I love that it doesn’t give me a Trumpian-orange hue, but rather a subtle bit of warmth to my skin. I wish it didn’t smell so heavily of coconut and sunscreen, but everything else is so good about the product that I suck it up.

Disclosure: I was gifted Butter London’s Glazen Face Glow to review, but will always share only what I truly love with you.

Skincare:

After reading Hitha’s post about the science behind Micellar Water, I dug out my Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water and haven’t looked back. In the past I had only used it as a makeup remover, but now I use it all over my face as a toner. I love how it leaves my skin feeling a lot softer and less dehydrated than if I had used a normal toner. I can also trust it to remove the very last bit of dirt from my skin before I head to bed. I’ve also been using The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 every other day. I initially used it every day and my skin got sooooo dry. It was bad. Now that I alternate days, it’s a lot better and leaves my skin feeling so smooth (and it’s a lot more affordable that other similar products). Lastly, for my nighttime routine, I’ve been dabbling more and more with facial oils. My latest favorite is the Elemis Superfood Faciol Oil. It absorbs so quickly, leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft, and smells amazinggg.

Haircare:

Thanks to my obsession with Tati aka Glam Life Guru on YouTube, I am officially on the Briogeo haircare bandwagon. My two favorites are the Rosarco Oil and the Scalp Revival Charcoal + Biotin Dry Shampoo. I only wash my hair once a week, so the dry shampoo is essential. I find that it does a great job absorbing excess oil without drying out my hair too much. It also isn’t super heavy like a lot of the drugstore spray ones can be. As for the oil, I work 3-4 pumps through my hair when it’s towel dried as a styling product, then reapply 1 pump throughout the week if my ends are feeling dry. It smells incredible, too.
