I know, I know… we’re CRAZY for tackling another makeover project while also getting married. But with so many friends and family members in town visiting, our tiny bungalow has been getting a lot of use. Our tiny bathroom is the last renovation project on the list… and it totally looks like it. It was dark, sad, and barely functional. Thanks to our friends at Delta, we recently installed new bathroom fixtures that inspired an easy mini makeover! Today I’m going to share the shower fixtures and sink faucet we chose, plus a bit of the amazing technology behind them. Stay tuned for a pulled back look at the entire space tomorrow, too (including before photos)!
How to Refresh a Tiny Bathroom with Delta
Another driver for us to complete this tiny bathroom makeover is that we want to list the house as a vacation rental soon so that we can begin saving money for another property! In its previous condition, the bathroom would have deterred potential guests — especially when compared to the rest of the bungalow. Even this quick bathroom refresh will improve our listing and hopefully bring in more guests. After all, we just want everyone who uses the space to feel comfortable!
Select a bathroom collection
Almost 2 years ago, I was lucky enough to visit and tour the Delta Faucet Company headquarters. While there, I fell in love with the Stryke™ Bath Collection. Sean and I often have different tastes when it comes to fixture shapes, but this is one collection where we are fully united. The rounded square contours of each fixture is a really nice architectural detail for our otherwise plain bathroom.
Pick a finish
As you’ll remember from our kitchen renovation, I am obsessed with all things Matte Black — especially faucets! Delta offers a beautiful matte black finish for most of their collections. Because our bathroom and kitchen are next to each other, it felt like a no-brainer to select the same finish for both. Personally, I like when my finishes coordinate throughout the house because then it feels more unified.
Start with the shower head
Saving water is one of our biggest priorities in our home, so I’ve been a longtime fan of Delta shower heads. They prioritize creating water-saving solutions while still offering function, style and a spa-like showering experience. Many of their shower heads come with H2Okinetic® Technology, which use at least 20% less water than the industry standard. The best part about that? I never even notice that we’re using less water because the technology literally sculpts the water into a unique pattern that makes you feel like you’re using more water than you actually are! We installed the Delta H2Okinetic® In2ition® 5-Setting Two-in-One Shower, which features additional technology, too, including:
- MagnaTite® Docking — This means that the inner shower head instantly docks into place every time.
- Touch-Clean® spray holes — They allow you to easily wipe away calcium or lime build-up from the face of your shower head.
- Many spray settings — Including H2Okinetic PowerDrench spray, Full Body spray, Massaging spray, Shampoo Rinsing spray (my personal fave because I have really thick hair), and Pause.
Can you tell I am sort of obsessed?? Plus, the two-in-one shower head makes it a dream to wash the dogs! I simply turn off the outer shower head and use the hand shower to give them monthly spa treatments.
Refresh your sink faucet, too
What’s the sense in updating the shower fixtures without doing the sink, too?? Our sink is an old pedestal that we salvaged for free. It needed a little pick-me-up, so we installed the Stryke™ Centerset Faucet. I love how the matte black finish contrasts beautifully against the white porcelain. Plus, our new faucet is WaterSense® Labeled, so it uses at least 20% less water as well!
